Do you ever find your mind fixated on a persistent, inescapable musical thought? A mental itch that you just can’t seem to scratch away? That’s the feeling that my new single “Itching Brain” explores. “Itching Brain” is a genre-blending composition that combines elements of contemporary classical, alternative, and chamber music. Scored for a unique ensemble of flute, violin, clarinet, and cello, the piece captures the maddening sensation of having an intrusive musical idea that won’t leave your headspace. The music ebbs and flows, building in intensity as the instruments seem to scratch and claw at this unwelcome mental guest. But just when you think you’ve found relief, the motif returns, creating an endlessly itching, niggling sensation that you can’t quite rid yourself of. It’s a thought-provoking, emotive listening experience that I’m excited to share with all of you. “Itching Brain” is out now on all major streaming platforms. I hope you’ll give it a listen and let me know what you think! Does it capture that feeling of a relentless mental itch for you as well?
