Music, storytelling and education
Kristian Sensini is an Italian film composer, flutist, pianist, teacher and author. His research grows out of an interest in the way music, images and words create meaning and emotionally engage an audience.
He has worked on international film and audiovisual productions, with particular attention to animation and the relationship between music and storytelling. His work includes the scores for the animated feature filmsRocks in My PocketsandMy Love Affair With Marriageby Signe Baumane, films screened and awarded at major international festivals.
Alongside his artistic work, he teaches extensively in schools, at university and in film education. His experience as a teacher has led him to experiment with methods that actively engage students and value creativity, listening and participation.
The project
Dadi, Maghi e Draghi
His interest in role-playing games comes from the meeting of educational practice, a passion for storytelling and the study of the mechanisms through which a shared story can become an experience.
The book Dadi, Maghi e Draghi. Role-playing games as an educational tool brings this research together and makes it available to teachers, educators, families and players. The project also includes presentations, talks, workshops with children and young people, and training events.

An international perspective
He is a member of the Recording Academy, the European Film Academy and professional organizations connected with music for the screen. He is also one of the founders of the Associazione Compositori Musica per Film.
His artistic experience also informs his educational work: composing music and guiding an adventure both require listening, organizing time, building tension, leaving room for the unexpected and giving meaning to choices.
