An essential guide to fantasy role-playing: simple rules, meaningful choices and a ready-to-play adventure.

Dadi, Maghi e Draghi - The game starts here, an essential guide to fantasy role-playing

Why we created it

To really get started without having to study an entire rulebook first

This guide grew out of a very practical need: to let a teacher, educator, parent or group of friends try a fantasy role-playing game right away without first having to tackle a large rulebook.

The essential section is designed to be read quickly: in about half an hour you can understand the core mechanics and, with an hour available, arrive at the table with what you need to begin.

The aim is not to replace complete rulebooks, but to offer a clear, readable and practical first step: learn by playing, introducing a rule only when it becomes necessary.

Included in the guide

The Crypt of the Broken Seal

The guide includes a complete introductory adventure for 4–5 first-level characters, designed to last roughly 90 minutes to two hours.

It is designed to teach through play and presents the group with a social situation, an avoidable danger, exploration, a clear combat encounter and a puzzle. A beginner Game Master can run it by reading the overall situation and then proceeding one room at a time.

This makes it especially useful for teachers and educators: there is no need to invent an adventure immediately, prepare dozens of pages or know every rule before sitting down at the table.

For school and education

Learning by doing

With children, young people and beginners, it is often more effective to reduce procedural load and let the rules emerge during play. The Game Master does not need to know the solution in advance: they prepare a situation and let the group’s decisions build the path.

For this very reason, role-playing can become a genuine exercise in listening, cooperation, creativity and problem-solving without turning into a disguised lesson.
