D&D at school: role-playing games as an educational tool
Dadi, Maghi e Draghi comes to Lucca Comics & Games with an event devoted to school, inclusion, cooperation, storytelling, problem-solving and transferable skills.
The event
When role-playing enters the classroom
Can Dungeons & Dragons become a tool for learning, inclusion and cooperation? The event begins with concrete experiences developed in schools and teacher training to show how role-playing can activate storytelling, problem-solving, listening, collaboration and the ability to take different points of view.
The point is not to “use D&D to teach a lesson” artificially, but to understand what happens when a group enters a narrative situation, makes decisions, faces their consequences and builds a story together.
The event presents the Dadi, Maghi e Draghi project, born from Kristian Sensini’s experience as a teacher, author and trainer and from work with students, teachers, educators and families.

An event within the “60 Legacy” edition
The event takes place at the IMT Library, in the area devoted to Game Science activities: a space where research, education and game culture meet within Lucca Comics & Games.
More than a talk
Demo sessions for teachers, parents and educators
In addition to Friday’s talk, the project will be present in the Demo Area with short play experiences for those who want a practical introduction to the method: Friday afternoon and during Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1.
The demos are designed as 30–45 minute micro-experiences: no knowledge of Dungeons & Dragons or previous role-playing experience is required.
